IFM Exploring the Functional Medicine Model: A Case-Based Approach January 16 2016
The Functional Medicine Association of North Texas is Proud to be Working in Collaboration with the Institute for Functional Medicine on the January Event.
CHANGE YOUR FOCUS, CHANGE YOUR RESULTS
Functional Medicine practitioners treat patients, not symptoms. IFM’s new 1-day, case-based foundational training course, illustrates how you can achieve amazing results with your hard-to-treat patients by changing your focus. The Functional Medicine approach recognizes that a symptom may have myriad causes, so it makes no sense to treat all patients who have that symptom in the same way.
REPLACING THE CONVENTIONAL MODEL
An epidemic of chronic disease—largely preventable and reversible—is compromising the health of populations around the world, increasing human suffering, death rates, and economic burdens. It’s time to meet this challenge head on. Because of its focus on acute care, the current medical model fails to confront both the causes of and solutions for the chronic disease epidemic. Functional Medicine practitioners are replacing it with a model of comprehensive care and prevention that is systems-based, integrative, patient-centered, and more effective.
